Remove the big 50 amp BCM fuse in the trunk, flip it 180° and re-insert in fuse holder. Sometimes a buildup of oxidization and/or corrosion makes for a bad contact. Without that fuse contact engine won't crank.It is a 2008 Chevy Cobalt 2.2L with 199K. I've owned it since about 70K and it has always had its routine maintenance. The night before the issue, I filled up the gas, drove it to work the next day, no issues. When leaving work it cranked but will not start. He took it to the shop and they told him it was the fuel pump, so I did it for him. After I installed the fuel pump, the car cranks no problem but won’t start. It’ll start up with brake clean and run for a second before ... Turn on the ignition and listen for the fuel pump to buzz. The fuel pump is controled by the ECM and makes the pump turn on for 3 seconds to prime the system with fuel before starting the engine. One of the wires on the solenoid with a fusable link does this. If this works, your done.

After you get the battery charged up, start taking battery voltage readings. If it keeps dropping below 12.6 volts, you may need to replace it. It's best to take the readings with the battery cables disconnected so that you can rule out any parasitic drains as being the culprit. (eliminate variable) M.

In the on position will be -+5V and the pin 56 will have 1.5V to 2.5V in start position with the connector connected to the BCM.
