My favorite piece for soprano is a Selmer Super Session "I" which to me has a bigger sound, however, my second favorite is the Yani Metal 7.Links have fairly large chambers in comparison to the standard. Most Roo pads come in an unusual color (white or black) and when one pad needs to be replaced, you have to go back to the tech who has that color to match the other pads. Another problem is pad supplies.Sax players will notice that they have to listen to the monitor mix at a slightly higher level than rhythm players. The reason is simple. When you play the horn it resonates in your head, therefore you'll have to turn up a bit to hear the mix above the natural resonation. The last known Akustik saxophone was number 3749 (source Bassic-Sax). And as we see (Bvhoyweg writes) - perhaps the earliest "Weltklang" has the serial number 38xx. There is a photo of "Akustik" tenor with a neck with s/n 5386 on the Bassic-Sax site. My stamped logo YTS 62 has serial number 044xxx and Yamaha told me that it was manufactured in 1998. So yours should be from a fair bit before then.
